Hi, I’m Calvin!

There are two subspecies of Bongo: Western/Lowland and Eastern/Mountain.

Bongo are the largest forest antelope in Africa.

Mountain Bongo are endangered, and their population has declined by 20% over three generations.

Bongo horns can grow up to three feet long!

Bongos have very cute and large ears, which is thought to help sharpen their hearing.

Bongo have beautiful coloring and markings, with an auburn or chestnut coat with 10–15 vertical white stripes.

You can catch Calvin in Section 5 of the Drive-Thru Safari alongside the rest of the Eastern Bongo herd!
