PORT CLINTON, Ohio, June 5, 2024 — In celebration of World Environment Day on June 5, African Safari Wildlife Park has contributed a total of $600 to three deserving conservation organizations.
The following nonprofit organizations received $200 each:
- American Bird Conservancy, The Plains, Virginia – protects birds and bird habitats throughout the Americas
- North American Invasive Species Management Association, Milwaukee, Wisconsin – supports invasive species control through research, public advocacy and professional development
- The Bee Conservancy, New York, NY – advocates for pollinators and native plants
The recipients were selected by the Park’s conservation committee, composed of employees Ashley Hamrick, Seth Hojnacki, Kelsey Keller, Makayla Kopriver, Sophie Nader, Brandon Ramsey, Dylan Shea, Danielle Tran and Elliot Zirulnik.
The contributions came from Guardian of Wildlife, the Park’s 501(c)(3) organization that exists to promote and support wildlife conservation and is funded primarily by donations from Park guests. Since 2016, Guardian of Wildlife has gifted more than $29,000 to nonprofit organizations around the world. Donations to Guardian of Wildlife can be made at www.africansafariwildlifepark.com/donate.
“We are proud to support these organizations that work tirelessly to protect natural habitats along with the plants and animals that rely on those ecosystems,” said Park director Kelsey Keller.
