First Responders Saturday at African Safari Wildlife Park
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 7, 2020
PORT CLINTON, Ohio, October 7, 2020, African Safari Wildlife Park celebrated local First Responders and their families with an afternoon of Safaris and a food truck this past Saturday, October 3.
Catawba Island Fire Department, the Danbury Township Fire and Police Departments, and the Ottawa County Fire and Police Departments as well as their Sheriff and Deputies were first on the scene during the Park’s tragic Thanksgiving Day fire in 2019. Many of the Firefighters and Officers who responded that day have since established a close relationship with African Safari Wildlife Park and the Staff.
“We wanted to show our local First Responders how much we truly appreciated their dedication and support after our tragedy last Fall,” said African Safari Wildlife Park Director, Kelsey Keller. “Having them and their families come out and have a fun-filled day at the Safari was really important to us. Our Park Staff also enjoyed getting to mingle with the First Responders in a relaxed setting.”
The Park invited local Port Clinton food truck, Xtreme Cuisine (419-341-4094), to serve delicious homemade food to the First Responders, their families, and African Safari Staff throughout the beautiful fall Saturday.
